Different types of bras – Convertible bras, Built in bras and more

Originally designed to cover and protect women’s breasts, bras have evolved over time. Modern bras serve a variety of purpose ranging from lifting sagging beasts, giving volume to small breasts, giving your chest a perfect shape, restraining breast movement during exercise and more.

In this post, we take a look at the different types of bras available in market, their purpose and use.

  • Convertible Bras

    Convertible bras are also called as multipurpose bras. Convertible bras can be detached or moulded as per the requirement of the dress worn over it and hence suit a variety of occassions and dresses – a multipurpose bra indeed.

  • Built In Bras

    Built In Bras are fitted inside a dress, say swimming costume for examplle, and hence help do away with then need to wear a seperate bra. Backless clothes, tank tops, and swimsuits are the most common apparels that have built-in bras.

  • Cupless Bras

    Want to make your guy lust for you. Then try Cupless Bras. Counted under the erotic lingerie, the cupless bras consist of only straps and no cups. Wow, what a way to seduce your better half.

  • Wonderbra Bras

    Wonderbra Bra is a type of push up bra, designed such that your breasts are lifted and placed close together. Wonderbra bras thereby help in enhancing the cleavage.

  • Demi Bras

    Wearing a low cut garment? Then try Half Cup bras, also called Demi Bras. Demi Bras come with wide set straps and a horizontal bust line, so though they offer less support, they enable low-cut garments to be worn without the bra being seen.

    Front closure bras have hooks in the front, and are completely flat at the back. A nice break for your man from untying the conventional bras ;)

  • Trainer Bras

    Trainer bras are specially designed for teenagers whose breasts need support but are not developed enough to warrant a standard sized bras.


  • Adhesive Bras

    Adhesive Bras are for the fashion concious. Designed for women who like to wear off shoulder dresses and gowns, adhesive bras stick to breasts without any straps. A must for the fashion conscious.

  • A Padded Bra

    Are you the gifted with smaller, firm breasts? Then you can enhance the look by wearing a padded bra. A padded bra has padding inside the lining, thereby providing a fuller shape to small breasts.

  • Sports Bras

    Sports Bras provide firm support to breasts and are meant to avoid discomfort or embarrassment during exercise

  • Maternity Bras

    Designed for would be moms, they extend to accomodate the expansion of breasts during the term of pregnancy.

  • Nursing Bras

    They are for the newbie moms. Also called feeding bras, they provide easy access to the nipple thereby making breastfeeding simpler.
